US: Maharishi School students excel at DestinationImagination state and global competitions

Students at Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment in Fairfield, Iowa, USA continue to win top awards in creative problem-solving at the state and international levels in DestinationImagination competitions.

This year, 34 students from Maharishi School represented six teams that won state championships in Iowa, said Dr Richard Beall, head of Maharishi School.* Students ranged in age from 4th grade to seniors in high school.

Winning the state championships in Iowa qualified the teams to go on to the Global Finals in Tennessee.

A team of senior boys performed a skit using sophisticated electronics to illustrate the demise of the carrier pigeon and the advent of the telephone, Dr Beall said.

Out of 60 competitions that year, they were voted top in the world for their category. The team won 5th place in the world overall in the competition.
