'Real education, for higher consciousness': Maharishi University of Enlightenment celebrates third Commencement

On 24 June 2010, Maharishi University of Enlightenment celebrated its third Commencement ceremonies, awarding BA, MA, and PhD degrees in Maharishi Vedic Science.

The President of Maharishi University of Enlightenment gave an inspiring opening address at the Commencement ceremony. She explained that Veda means knowledge—not just ordinary knowledge, but complete knowledge, pure knowledge, Total Knowledge, which allows the student to grow in enlightenment, the full blossoming of life.

'This is real education,' the President said, 'education for higher states of consciousness.'

She quoted from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's response to a question at a Global Press Conference on 8 September 2004, in which he was asked: 'When a student graduates from your system of Consciousness-Based Education and lives in enlightenment and fulfilment, what then should this student choose to do for his adult life?'

Maharishi answered: 'Then begins life. Whatever he would like, that will come true for him. He will find a red carpet in any direction he wants to go, for anything he wants to achieve. He will be capable of steering the course of life as he wishes. Wherever he wants to land on the other side, he will land.

'He will be able to live life as he wants,' Maharishi said, 'without worries, without problems, without tension, without suffering. Then in right earnest, life begins.

'This is an educated life, not the life of the ignorant. If he goes through Vedic Education, then he is an educated man. It is a very good, remarkable thing. You'll rule the world, rule the universe. You'll be served by all the planets. Everything will be at your disposal, just at your disposal.'

'This is the education we are celebrating today,' the President of Maharishi University of Enlightenment said.
