Maharishi University of Management accreditation renewed, marking 10 years of progress

Following its regularly scheduled 10-year accreditation evaluation last fall, the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools has recently renewed M.U.M.'s accreditation, highlighting 10 years of progress since the last accreditation visit.

The evaluation process began with a 240-page self-study prepared by the University last year. The visiting team of evaluators reviewed the self-study and other documentation, and then visited the campus for three days. They examined all facets of the University and met with faculty, administrators, and students.

Since the last accreditation visit 10 years ago, enrollment at the University has doubled to more than 1,200. In addition, 42 old buildings have been demolished, and 70 new buildings have been built on campus, including residence halls, classroom buildings, homes, apartment buildings, and condos.

Over that period generous donors have contributed $11 million for construction, and $500,000 for demolition.

Other achievements in the past 10 years have included the annual David Lynch Weekends, the annual Eco-Fairs and a focus on a sustainable campus, major research grants and publications, the addition of many new Trustees who are taking a lead role in developing the University, and academic programs that have brought waves of students, including the Computer Professionals Program, Accounting MBA, Sustainable Living, and Media and Communications.
