On 25 April 2010 DailyMotion.com reported:
Renowned filmmaker David Lynch recently spoke about how the Transcendental Meditation Programme is a 'stress buster' that helps students and teachers transform their lives 'from within' so that they are happier, more creative, more confident.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of education.
Transcendental Meditation is 'for the individual', Mr Lynch explained, speaking in an interview with David Servan-Schreiber, MD, PhD, during a recent visit to France.*
'It makes you more self-assured, more self-sufficient, seeing a bigger and bigger picture, happier when you jump out bed in the morning, [having] more and more ideas, more and more joy in the doing, better relationships. It's beautiful,' Mr Lynch said.
'It's all about a good life,' he added.
Mr Lynch invited all the schools in France to offer Transcendental Meditation to their students.
Around the world, school principals struggling with such problems as violence, poor academic performance, and 'teacher burnout' have seen dramatic positive transformations in their schools, said Mr Lynch.
If there are questions about the effectiveness of the programme, 'give it to a few schools, and do research projects, and really look into it—it's real,' Mr Lynch said.*
There is 'so much stress in the world,' he concluded. 'I just want people to know that besides this technique opening the door to so many benefits,** it is a stress buster.'
Global Good News comment:
* David Lynch was alluding to the extensive body of scientific research that already exists on the benefits of the Transcendental Meditation Programme in education.
** Please see Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV and Part V of this article, in which Mr Lynch talks about finding inner happiness through the Transcendental Meditation Programme, strengthening individuality and creativity, ending school violence, and many other benefits of the technique.
