The article features the recent success of a team of three students in the Accounting MBA at Maharishi University of Management (MUM) in Fairfield, Iowa, USA.

Last month the team finished in ninth place in a challenging national business simulation competition, against 92 other MBA teams from universities around the US.

The simulation was part of professor Andrew Bargerstock's class in Lean Accounting Transformation. The simulation required the students to take the role of a company and make myriad decisions, from pricing and cost control to innovation and automation.

'It's a real challenge', Dr Bargerstock said. 'It takes both strong analytical skills and informed intuition to make good decisions in this simulation.'

These qualities have been found to develop naturally in students through MUM's unique Consciousness-Based Education programme, including the Transcendental Meditation Technique, which has been found by extensive scientific research to promote development of total brain functioning.

Students from the MUM Accounting Professionals MBA Program are being placed in salaried curricular practical training (CPT) positions with a variety of profit, not-for-profit and governmental organizations across the United States.
