14 March 2010
Dr Ashley Deans, Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education, completed a week-long presentation tour in Belgium in February 2010, during which he visited several schools interested in implementing the programme.
First, Dr Deans had a meeting with the headmaster of a secondary school of 1,700 students. The meeting was organized by a local Teacher of the Transcendental Meditation Programme. This school has already implemented a 'quiet time' as part of its curriculum, so Transcendental Meditation will fit seamlessly into the students' routine. Raja Lucien reported that the headmaster was impressed by Dr Deans' presentation, and that he will soon be presenting to the school's board of directors concerning Consciousness-Based Education.
Also during his tour, Dr Deans gave a presentation to the headmaster of a secondary school of 700 students in Brussels, which went very well.
He also met with a secondary school teacher who, along with her husband, wishes to start her own private school. Both the teacher and her husband learnt Transcendental Meditation recently in Brussels, and they are inspired to begin their own Consciousness-Based Education institution of 100 students.
In addition to meeting with these school leaders, Dr Deans presented to a law professor in Belgium, who was greatly impressed by the results of Transcendental Meditation practice for inmates and guards in prisons of prison inmates. The professor wishes to have a follow-up meeting with Dr Deans later this year to further discuss the potential of such a programme for prisons in Belgium.
Speaking on Maharishi Global Family Chat,* Raja Lucien Mansour, Raja of Invincible Belgium for the Global Country of World Peace, reported on these successful developments in his domain.
In conclusion, Raja Lucien attributed the success of Dr Deans' tour in part to the superb organization and preparation by members of the Global Country of World Peace in Belgium. 'This kind of focussed attention on Consciousness-Based Education will surely lead soon to the establishment of a Yogic Flying Group in schools, and national invincibility for Belgium.'
* Raja Lucien's report was featured on the 9 March 2010 Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
