The International Foundation of Consciousness-Based Education: Offering ideal education at five levels

The International Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education develops ideal Consciousness-Based Education for students and faculty at every level of education, from kindergarten to PhD. Materials for implementing Consciousness-Based Education have been prepared at five levels—so that schools can enjoy Consciousness-Based Education whether they choose a very simple or very comprehensive programme.

Dr Susie Dillbeck, President of the International Foundation of Consciousness-Based Education, recently described* the purpose, accomplishments, and goals of the Foundation.

'The International Foundation of Consciousness-Based Education develops and helps implement—in accord with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's latest guidelines—courses on consciousness for universities and schools,' she said.

The Foundation also develops 'the entire Consciousness-Based curriculum for Consciousness-Based schools and higher educational institutions, [as well as] professional development programmes for faculty, school principals, and university presidents,' Dr Dillbeck continued.

'The materials are provided at five levels, from most simple, to most comprehensive programmes,' she said.

Levels 1 and 2 provide materials for starting the Transcendental Meditation Programme, and later the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, in the schools.

Level 3 adds to the practice of Transcendental Meditation, the study of consciousness for all levels of education.

Level 4 provides established Consciousness-Based Schools and higher educational institutions with the materials to become full Consciousness-Based institutions.

Dr Dillbeck noted that a two-to-three year programme has been designed in which the faculty learn Maharishi's principles of consciousness, and principles of curriculum design, lesson structure, and daily routine.

This knowledge has been structured for teachers to earn an MA degree part-time, she said.

Level 5 consists of all the materials and guidelines for starting a Consciousness-Based school or higher educational institution. The knowledge is delivered in stages over three years, so that teachers can master and receive certification at each stage.
