First Nations leaders inspire expansion of Transcendental Meditation in Canada

First Nations leaders in Canada are inspiring their communities to make use of the Transcendental Meditation Programme and other initiatives to promote good health, better education, and increased cultural integrity and sustainability.
Consciousness-Based Education is appreciated at a First Nations school, where students, teachers, and community leaders are seeing the profound and wide-ranging benefits of Transcendental Meditation.
The First Nations schools are closely linked, so this ideal education could easily inspire other schools to participate, said Raja Paul Potter, Raja of Invincible Canada for the Global Country of World Peace, in a summary of highlights of the past year.*
First Nations leaders spoke at a three-day international symposium on 'Building a Healthy, Sustainable American Indian Community' held this fall at Maharishi University of Management (M.U.M.) in Fairfield, Iowa, USA.
After the conference they were inspired to further promote the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in their communities.
A participant in the M.U.M. conference is a leader in First Nations health, and is one of a number of leaders and directors in this field who have learned the Transcendental Meditation Programme since the conference, Raja Paul said. This opens a new door to offer programmes, particularly in the field of health, he said.
In coming days, Global Good News will feature the continuation of Raja Paul's talk, in which he discusses other areas of expansion in Canada.
* Raja Potter's report was featured on the 28 December 2009 Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
