Consciousness-Based Education is drawing increasing attention and interest in the Seychelles, Ethiopia, and Nigeria.
Seychelles Educators and other leaders of society have learned the Transcendental Meditation Programme this past year, and there is great interest in Consciousness-Based Education, said Raja Bruce Plaut, Raja of Invincible Seychelles, Ethiopia, and Nigeria for the Global Country of World Peace.*
Three schools in the Seychelles** are ready to implement Consciousness-Based Education programmes, he said. The programmes could potentially begin next year. Students at just one of these schools could create national invincibility for this beautiful tropical paradise in the Indian Ocean, Raja Plaut said.
Ethiopia Lively interest in Consciousness-Based Education is growing in Ethiopia. The National Director of Ethiopia for the Global Country runs two schools, and is taking steps toward the possibility of offering Consciousness-Based Education to her students. In addition, a relatively large number of Master's degree students who choose to attend Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, come from Ethiopia, Raja Plaut reported.
Nigeria On 2 December, the Maharishi Development Foundation for Nigeria was formally established. The occasion was marked with a celebration and addresses by the Raja and Raj Rajeshwari*** of Nigeria, as well as by the National Director of Nigeria for the Global Country, Margaret Obamanu.
In her beautiful and all-encompassing wish for her nation, Dr Obamanu said: 'Our children are the people of tomorrow, and it is my great desire to reach out to the future leaders and generation of my country with Consciousness-Based Education . . . . Adults will also benefit, and it is my hope that they will soon understand the goodness of what we can bring to the country. Then every Nigerian will want to stay in the country because they experience within themselves harmony and peace.'
Possibilities for Consciousness-Based Education are dawning, with several schools interested in implementing the programme, Raja Plaut said.
