In Portugal, a secondary school with 600 students is implementing Consciousness-Based Education. The school could potentially create invincibility for the nation. There is also rising interest from other schools and leaders in the field of education.
Some of the teachers at the secondary school have already learned the Transcendental Meditation Programme, and they meditate as a group once a week, said Raja Antonio Bartolome, Raja of Invincible Portugal for the Global Country of World Peace. Six more teachers learned Transcendental Meditation last week, he added.
Parents have already given their support for the Consciousness-Based Education programme, and when enough of the teachers are practising Transcendental Meditation the Principal of the school will go ahead with the next step, Raja Antonio said.
With 600 students and 69 faculty the school is large enough to create invincibility for Portugal.
Several other schools, as well as departments within universities, are interested in offering the benefits of Transcendental Meditation to their students.
Other educational leaders are also showing an interest in Consciousness-Based Education, Raja Antonio said.
Neuroscientist Dr Fred Travis, Director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness, and Cognition at Maharishi University of Management, USA, will visit Portugal in April, Raja Antonio continued. He will meet with educators and business managers, and hold conferences open to the public explaining the benefits of Transcendental Meditation for brain functioning.
This will give a great boost to expansion of Consciousness-Based Education in the country, Raja Antonio concluded.
