Uganda: Students at Maharishi secondary school for girls will create an invincible nation

At the Maharishi Invincibility School* in Uganda, a secondary school for girls based on the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi—Founder of the Transcendental Meditation Programme—the students and teachers practise Transcendental Meditation twice a day. The last class of the day is Maharishi's Science of Creative Intelligence. In January, the school will implement the curriculum from the Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education, a programme successfully used around the world to develop students' total brain functioning and improve academic performance.
In addition to providing an ideal education—academic success and the knowledge and technologies to grow to enlightenment—the school is the basis for creating Invincibility for Uganda, said Raja Graham De Freitas,** Raja (Administrator) of Invincible Uganda for the Global Country of World Peace. Numerous studies have verified that when the square root of one percent of a nation's population practises the Transcendental Meditation Technique and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, as a group, positive trends are seen throughout society. Uganda, with a population of thirty million, needs 650 Yogic Flyers to create national invincibility.
In Uganda, the popularity of private secondary schools depends almost entirely on the results of examinations taken at the end of the fourth year. However, the Ugandan Department of Education is beginning to assess schools on more rounded criteria. Said Raja Graham, 'We're in our second year of operation, with eight students last year and thirty this year. We expect to establish a good reputation in the country, and plan to have 600-800 students within two to three years. A member of an education consultants group visited our school and was very impressed.'
The school has been declared a non-sectarian institution by the Ugandan government, and the student body includes both Muslims and Catholics.
