Mongolia: Thinking big to implement Maharishi's programmes in education, medical training, student networking

9 September 2009
Significant developments in Consciousness-Based Education are underway in Mongolia—including strong interest among several public and private schools to implement the programme; a growing desire of many medical professionals for physician training in Maharishi Ayur-Veda; and networking initiatives among students who practise the Transcendental Meditation Programme.
A former educator in Mongolia who practises Transcendental Meditation arranged a meeting between Raja Tom Stanley, Raja of Invincible Mongolia, and 10 of the most prominent college and secondary school educators in the nation. As a result, a large public secondary school expressed great interest in implementing Consciousness-Based Education. Also at the meeting, representatives from two of the most prestigious private schools in Mongolia expressed keen interest in the programme.
'This gentleman has done a wonderful job of spreading awareness of the value of Transcendental Meditation for schools,' said Raja Stanley, speaking on 5 September 2009.* He added that this same man (who is the brother of the country's National Director for the Global Country of World Peace) is also preparing to open his own institution, 'which will incorporate not only TM and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, but the Consciousness-Based Education programme in its entirety.' This new school will begin small, with 20 students, but will likely grow as interest in the programme mounts.
These school projects will take a lot of focus, attention, and follow-up, continued Raja Stanley, but 'it will be a great joy to bring Consciousness-Based Education to the children of Mongolia'. A nation of population three million situated between Russia and China, Mongolia requires approximately 180 Yogic Flyers to achieve national invincibility. It would be possible to fulfil this through the three schools that have expressed interest, he noted—the public school including 1,000 students, and the two private schools between 300 and 600 each.
Raja Stanley went on to report that Mongolia's youngest Transcendental Meditation Teacher will be establishing a Students International Meditation Society (SIMS) in the country. This young man has strong connections with students and student organizations in Mongolia, and looks forward to spreading awareness of Maharishi's programmes among the younger generation.
There are many medical professionals among the nation's Teachers and practitioners of Transcendental Meditation and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programmes, commented Raja Stanley, who have expressed interest in a physician training programme in Maharishi Ayur-Veda. 'We will be looking into this opportunity as soon as possible,' he said.
He added that these Global Country of World Peace members are dedicated not only to doctor training, but ultimately to establishing a Maharishi Vedic Medical College within the nation. 'One thing that delights me about the people of Mongolia is that their vision is never small, always encompassing every possibility for enlightenment and invincibility for every corner of the nation.'
* Raja Stanley's report was featured on the 5 September Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
