Currently in Peru, the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programmes, including Yogic Flying, are being implemented in larger groups of schools, according to region, rather than on a school-by-school basis.
On 5 May 2009, Raja Jose Luis Alvarez, Raja of Invincible Latin America for the Global Country of World Peace, reported that this consolidation of Consciousness-Based Education programmes in Peru has already resulted in 50,000 students learning Transcendental Meditation, in about 400 schools.
The National Director of Peru for the Global Country of World Peace, Dr Javier Ortiz, said that this sudden increase in student practitioners has led to a far more noticeable transformation of the educational experience than that achieved when instructing students on an individual school basis.
Three concrete benefits of Consciousness-Based Education have gained official recognition: reduction of violent behaviour in schools, enhancement of students' academic performance, and improvement in focus and teacher-student relationships.
'The rapid expansion of Consciousness-Based Education in existing institutions throughout Peru—and all of Latin America—represents an important possibility for society,' stated Raja Luis. 'Not only will it bring invincibility to these nations, but it will lead to the establishment of a new set of values within society.'
