Turkey: Educators, students, public across the country inspired by Consciousness-Based Education

Adana and Antakya were among seven cities in Turkey that hosted 20 presentations on the knowledge, principles, and worldwide success of Consciousness-Based Education during a recent 11-day period.

The presentations were given by Dr Ashley Deans, Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education and Executive Director of Maharishi School in Fairfield, Iowa, USA. Accompanying Dr Deans on the tour were Raja Paul Potter, Raja of Invincible Turkey, and Dr Albert Baruh, National Director of Turkey for the Global Country of World Peace.

Having given successful presentations in Istanbul, the group went to Adana, the fourth largest city in Turkey, on the south coast, where they had a one-hour TV interview that was widely aired throughout the region.

In Antakya (Antioch), a 3,000 year-old city near the Syrian border, the university hall in which they gave the Consciousness-Based Education presentation was packed with students and teachers. 'Although it is not a large city, the level of culture, understanding, and education is high,' Dr Deans said.

In a third city, an individual who is a Yogic Flyer organized the Consciousness-Based Education lecture tour for them. This man was from an education foundation that supports more than 100 students every year to study anywhere in Turkey. He brought together 200 people to hear Dr Deans' presentation.

When discussing this tour recently, Dr Deans said that originally the presentation in the third town was intended for just a few directors of the education foundation. However, when people in the community heard about it, they all wanted to come—so a large hall was rented, and at least 200 people crowded in. Dr Deans' talk was recorded, so that it could be shown later to hundreds of others from the city who had not been able to attend. At the end, the director of the education foundation presented Dr Deans with an honorary award.

Raja Paul Potter commented that Dr Deans' presentations on Consciousness-Based Education were very lively and animated; he had the attention of the audience at every step, and was very skilled at drawing the audiences into the presentation.
