Consciousness-Based Education has been featured extensively in the news media in Great Britain recently. Articles about offering the Transcendental Meditation Technique to students under the government's new academy plan have appeared in an array of newspapers.
On 20 February, Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of Invincible Great Britain for the Global Country of World Peace, highlighted several media reports and also explained the academy plan.
The government wants to create new possibilities in the field of education, and to this end has launched a programme whereby private groups can manage and organize schools which offer the national curriculum, but have more flexibility than state schools, Raja Peter explained. The new academies can receive funding both from private sponsors and government sources.
Consciousness-Based Education has been recognized as an official partner for the new academy schools in the country, so that all schools starting under this academy scheme can learn more about Transcendental Meditation, he said. It's a preferred partner of all of those schools, so they are all receiving information about Consciousness-Based Education.
School teachers and the nation in general are also learning about Consciousness-Based Education and the Transcendental Meditation Programme through the many news articles that have appeared recently.
The Daily Mail featured an article with the title, 'Children to learn Transcendental Meditation in plan for two academies specialising in the technique'. They included a photo of Derek Cassells, Head Teacher of the highly successful Maharishi School in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, UK, Raja Peter said.
The Telegraph's title stated 'Transcendental Meditation on the curriculum under academy plan' and featured a picture of three students practising Transcendental Meditation.
The Press Association report—which goes to all the press throughout the country, Raja Peter said, wrote an article entitled 'Meditation classes for pupils?'.
Global Good News will continue to feature media coverage of Consciousness-Based Education in the coming days.
