Raja Vikram Aditya, Raja of Vedic Siam* for the Global Country of World Peace, recently reported on the many elegant, dignified buildings and campuses throughout Thailand designed and constructed according to the principles of Maharishi Vedic Architecture.
Speaking on the Maharishi Global Family Chat, he presented slides and descriptions of the extensive Vastu facilities in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chanthaburi, and Ayutthaya.
'In Bangkok at the Raja Park College', he said, 'we have two Vastu buildings.' One is an administrative building and the other has classrooms. Raja Vikram first presented slides of the spacious and royal administrative building, which is 2,400 square metres and six storeys high. Raja Vikram also showed slides of the five-storey classroom building, with its elegant dining area, computer room, and grand front entrance flanked on either side by large statues of white elephants. Both buildings feature beautiful marble and granite lobbies.
Student enrollment at Raja Park College has increased by approximately 30 to 40 per cent this year, Raja Vikram reported, 'and we [now] have a total of about 700 students'.
Proposed expansion of the campus includes construction of another classroom building, as well as two more storeys to be added to the existing classroom building. In addition, there are plans to build a Maharishi Tower of Invincibility on the land.
'[At] our Academy in Chanthaburi, which is three hours east of Bangkok', Raja Vikram continued, 'we have about 30 Vastu buildings with a total area of approximately 20,000 square metres.' The campus features dining and Yogic Flying facilities in addition to about 150 residential rooms of comfortable size—around 45 square metres.
A Transcendental Meditation Technique Training Course was held at the academy a year and a half ago, and another is scheduled to start on 27 October of this year, Raja Vikram reported.
The buildings are pleasingly simple, he said, attributing their welcoming quality to the fact that they are built according to Maharishi Sthapatya Veda.
Nearly all of the beautiful trees on the land were planted several years ago by Raja Vikram and the Mother of the Domain.
In Chiang Mai, in the northern part of Thailand, there is a 3,000 square metre Vastu facility run by the National Director of Thailand for the Global Country of World Peace. The Centre offers Maharishi's programmes, including Transcendental Meditation. Maharishi Ayur-Veda rejuvenating spa treatments are also available in Chiang Mai.
Land has been acquired in Ayutthaya, the former capital of the nation, and the National Director envisions this as the site of a Consciousness-Based Education school and Maharishi Tower of Invincibility. 'The location of the land is quite auspicious with the river in the east,' Raja Vikram reported.
Raja Vikram concluded with his hope to complete more marble Vastu buildings throughout Thailand in the near future.
*Raja Vikram is also Raja of Invincible Cambodia, Laos, Burma, Brunei, and Maldives.
