Speaking 9 July 2008 on the Maharishi Global Family Chat, Raja Graham de Freitas, Raja of Invincible Grenada for the Global Country of World Peace, reported progress on the establishment of a three-year college degree programme in Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Living for students in Grenada.
The curriculum for the programme was devised by Dr Jim Schaeffer, President of Soil Technologies Corporation in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, and long-time supporter of Maharishi's world-wide agricultural programmes. While adhering to the general guidelines of the Sustainable Living programme at Maharishi University of Management (M.U.M.) in Fairfield, Iowa, USA including elements of Consciousness-Based Education, the programme in Grenada will also extend to the high school level. In this way, students will finish their three years of study with an Associates Degree, which will give them practical skills in the fields of agriculture and sustainable business.
In the future, said Raja Graham, this agricultural degree programme could be applied to many parts of the world. Dr David Fischer, Professor of Sustainable Living at M.U.M., has already received notification of interest among many countries. 'This presents an ideal opportunity to extend Consciousness-Based Education,' concluded Raja Graham.
