Benefits of Consciousness-Based Education appreciated in UK schools

Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of Great Britain for the Global Country of World Peace, has given a series of reports on the Maharishi Global Family Chat highlighting the many schools in Great Britain where Consciousness-Based Education is being introduced. A great impetus to adopt these programmes was provided by the earlier lecture tours of award-winning film director, Dr David Lynch; singer/songwriter Donovan; and Dr Ashley Deans, Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education*.
Of the more than 50 schools and colleges which made enquiries following these tours, there are now seven schools in England and four in Scotland that are at various stages of implementation. In one city, four schools interested in the programme are monitoring the success of the school where it is already underway. It is expected that the new academic year starting in September will bring many more schools forward to adopt Consciousness-Based Education as appreciation of the benefits grows among educators.
Extensive previous research indicates that just four schools of 200 pupils enjoying group practice of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation, the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, and Yogic Flying, will be sufficient to create invincibility for Great Britain. To this end, a Maharishi Invincibility Schools Fund has been established to help introduce Consciousness-Based Education into existing schools and to facilitate development of purpose-built Maharishi Invincibility Schools, with buildings constructed according to the principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda.
'Teachers are contacting us for a solution to the violence and failures in their schools and the only thing they are finding which really works is Transcendental Meditation and Consciousness-Based Education. It is increasingly evident that this is the way forward', Raja Warburton said.
He also explained that proposals will be put forward to help schools with low records of achievement. But Raja Warburton emphasized that schools with high levels of academic excellence and success are also interested in the programmes, attracted by the large body of scientific research which demonstrates the benefits of Transcendental Meditation, including increased intelligence, learning ability, and creativity, and improved academic performance.
For the benefit of Teachers of Transcendental Meditation worldwide, Raja Warburton outlined many useful and practical steps which can be undertaken to ensure rapid implementation of Consciousness-Based Education in their countries. He emphasized the importance of extensive follow-up knowledge-based programmes for all those who learn Transcendental Meditation in schools, as well as the advantages of involving the parents of the students who learn.
'We want children to grow up with the highest possible standards of education so they can truly develop their full potential and expand the container of knowledge—their own consciousness,' Raja Warburton said. 'Education is everywhere. There are so many educational institutions in every country and these provide a great opportunity to create large groups practising Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation-Sidhi programme together. It was Maharishi's desire for so many decades to create permanent groups of Yogic Flyers. Due to practicalities of daily living, it is difficult for people to come together and create a big group. But now it is happening through the schools. We can do it very quickly. Schools are everywhere so this approach offers a short cut to establishing invincibility for every country', Raja Warburton explained.
