by Global Good News staff writer

5 July 2008
Speaking 1 July 2008 on Maharishi's Global Family Chat, Dr Sjoerd Vos, member of the Board of Directors for Invincibility Schools in Holland, reported on the success of recent school inspections in MERU, Holland, International Capital of the Global Country of World Peace, and in Lelystad, Holland.
The meeting with school inspectors in MERU, reported Dr Vos, went incredibly smoothly. 'The inspectors were extremely enthusiastic about Consciousness-Based Education,' he said, 'since they had experienced its success during previous school inspections in Holland.'
'Over the last six years,' said Dr Vos, 'the Dutch government has come to understand the vast benefits of these schools, so that now the inspectors come in with a positive attitude that is hard to shake.' Among features of the MERU school particularly admired by the inspectors were Maharishi's '10 Principles of Ideal Communication', which provide a model for interaction between students and teachers. 'This is a beautiful and simple guide for classroom communication,' commented one inspector.
As for the Invincibility primary school in Lelystad, Holland, reported Dr Vos, 'it has surpassed 100 students for the first time.' An interesting fact about this school, continued Dr Vos, is that 60 per cent of its students come from families not practising the Transcendental Meditation Technique. 'The parents of these students, unfamiliar with Maharishi's programmes, are amazed at the level of coherence within the classroom,' said Dr Vos.
In addition to Invincibility Schools in MERU and Lelystad, Dr Vos has recently discussed the establishment of another school in the nation. 'I've spoken to three teachers [in northern Holland] who are excited to bring Consciousness-Based Education to their schools,' he reported.
In conclusion, Dr Vos stated that 'it is very inspiring to be working for the Global Country of World Peace organization right now, when so many teachers are discovering the Transcendental Meditation Technique as the key to solving all problems in the field of education.'
