Speaking recently on the Maharishi Global Family Chat, Dr Ashley Deans, Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education, introduced the Senior class of Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment in Fairfield, Iowa, USA—of which he is Director, during their stay in MERU, Holland, the European capital of the Global Country of World Peace.
Dr Ashley Deans, renowned expert in Consciousness-Based Education, began by presenting the Senior gentlemen of Maharishi School as a 'very accomplished class'. Recently, he reported, the Des Moines Register placed Maharishi School within the top 5 out of 320 schools in the state of Iowa, based on a study tracking subsequent student performance in Iowa public universities. 'This goes to show how Consciousness-Based Education, while unique in its focus on the development of consciousness, actually prepares its students for rigorous academic study,' commented Dr Deans. Furthermore, he pointed out that Maharishi School prepares students in 'a far more efficient and enjoyable way than the conventional system, which is purely the learning of information'. He added that Consciousness-Based Education allows students to grow in creativity, intelligence, receptivity, and breadth of comprehension.
Dr Deans went on to describe the events of the students' visit to Maharishi European Research University in MERU, Holland. Raja Jose Luis Alvarez, Raja of Invincible Latin America, spoke to the Maharishi School students about progress in his domain, where thousands have begun practising the Transcendental Meditation Technique in schools. Also, many hundreds have begun practising the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme including Yogic Flying in Latin America.
Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of Invincible Great Britain, spoke to the visiting Senior class about Maharishi's knowledge, telling them how every single discipline is linked to the Unified Field of Natural Law. Also, Raja Harris Kaplan, Raja of Invincible India reported on the accommodation of Maharishi Vedic Pandits in India, as well as mentioning the 145 Maharishi schools with a total of 85,000 students, many of which are now Yogic Flyers. 'It was very inspiring to hear from the Rajas that all the students around the world look to the students at the Maharishi School in Fairfield, the mother school, the first school that Maharishi founded,' remarked Dr Deans.
Dr Deans concluded by having the Maharishi School students recite some Vedic expressions with their English translations. 'At the Maharishi School, students not only learn traditional academic subjects, but they also learn the primordial sounds of the Veda, which when recited enliven the brain physiology and develop an immortal style of functioning.' Dr Deans also congratulated the teachers of these students at Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment, as well as the students' parents, for choosing Consciousness-Based Education.
