Dr Ashley Deans, Director of Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, recently spent a week in Israel as part a multi-nation tour to introduce Consciousness-Based Education to educators.
Continuing his presentation about the tour—featured in Part I of this series—Dr Alex Kutai, Founder of Invincibility and National Leader of the Transcendental Meditation Movement in Israel, said that Dr Deans had a very successful meeting with an official of the municipality of Haifa and the principle of a high school with 1,500 students age of 13 to 18.
The meeting took place at the request of the Mayor of Haifa who had previously met with filmmaker Dr David Lynch and was so inspired that he said he would like to see Consciousness-Based Education implemented at the above high school. Based on the success of the programme at that school, he plans to expand the Consciousness-Based Education programme in his city.
During the meeting with Dr Deans the principal of the high school agreed to very quickly to introduce the programme to 250 students—a sufficient number to create invincibility for the whole country. In the coming weeks, Dr Kutai said, the faculty, parents, and students will have the opportunity to learn Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Technique.
The continuation of Dr Kutai's report on the interest in Transcendental Meditation and Consciousness-Based Education generated by Dr Deans' tour through Israel will be featured in Part III of this series.
