New programs in business studies for assembly participants, others
The Review - Maharishi University of Management, USA Translate This Article
5 February 2007
To provide practical skills for those wanting to be self-sufficient while also participating in the Invincible America Assembly, a new certificate program in Accounting and Finance and one in Business Development will begin February 19 at Maharishi University of Management.
The schedule of afternoon courses from 1:30-3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, is designed to suit the needs of Invincible America Assembly participants, but the programs are available to all applicants.
Each certificate involves two semesters of study and will be offered at a special reduced tuition rate. Americans will be eligible for federal student grants and loans to pay the tuition and living expenses during their study.
These programs are available for U.S. participants at this time, and will be available for internationals beginning in the autumn 2007 semester. When that time comes, Canadians should be eligible for student loans. Internationals will need to have a student visa before they can begin the program. Details will be provided during the International Admissions application process.
The Accounting and Finance certificate begins with basic training in accounting and finance for two courses and continues with the study of taxation, investment analysis, and financial planning. It will prepare students for work in bookkeeping and personal financial assistantship. It will be of special interest to people who are nearing retirement and want enough knowledge to take control of their personal finances.
The Business Development certificate begins with the same two courses in accounting and finance but continues with courses in marketing, business law, personnel policies, and a project course in which participants write a business plan.
