The Benedict Foundation for Independent Schools has awarded a $10,000 grant to Maharishi School for student scholarships for grades 9-12 for the academic year 2005-06.

'This funding is an indication of growing national recognition for Maharishi School and our outstanding student achievements,' said Ashley Deans, director of Maharishi School.

The Florida-based foundation gives several grants each year to benefit independent, well-established secondary schools in the United States that have a financial need. In addition to the Benedict Foundation grant, supporters of Maharishi School raised over $100,000 for 50 student scholarships for the current year.
