On 8 August 2005 Newsweek reported:
Famous filmmaker David Lynch is busy raising money for schools and universities that teach Transcendental Meditation and other peace-promoting technologies. He has been inspired by the benefits of TM in his life since he began his practice 27 years ago. 'Those things that used to knock you out don't have the same power any more. Things get smoother and way more fun,' he told Newsweek.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of education.
David Lynch recalls his own childhood experience in the conventional educational system as a complete waste of time, and believes that if he had had access to Consciousness-Based Education, which involves regular practice of TM in conjunction with theoretical principles that relate unified knowledge to the experience, he would have been able to grow and develop further.
Mr Lynch's mission is a global one as well. He plans to start 'peace universities' in the Middle East and Russia, and says, 'It's absolutely possible to have peace on earth. People usually think peace is about the absence of war. But real peace is about the absence of negativity. You don't bring peace by killing people. You bring enemies by killing people. This is real peace, it's right there.'
Mr Lynch explained that the formula for peace on earth is a group the size of the square root of 1% of the population utilizing peace-creating technologies uninterruptedly. The size of the group would be 8,000 peace-creating experts, since there are 6 billion people. The coherent influence of this group would produce peace on earth.
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
