14 July 2005
On 14 July 2005 Chicago Sun-Times reported:
Jimmy Tilman, a teacher, is in the process of creating an all-boys public secondary school where students and teachers would meditate twice a day. Transcendental Meditation, he said, 'relieves stress. It makes it easier to concentrate on your subject matter when your mind is clear of static.'
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of education.
Though an all-boys public school hasn't existed in Chicago for about 30 years, schools for boys have become one of the most popular models for charter schools. Chicago Mayor Daley wants to create 100 new schools by 2010.
Chicago Public Schools has been encouraging all-boys schools to complement the system's existing all-girls charter secondary school.
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
