7 February 2012
A series of beautiful concerts of Indian classical music and dance has just been released on DVD. The series of five 'MERU Concerts' were performed in the Netherlands between July 2010 and January 2012. They were held in MERU, Netherlands as well as in nearby Roermond at the famed TheaterHotel de Orangerie.
The MERU Concerts feature Indian classical music, revived by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi as Maharishi Gandharva Veda—the eternal music of nature that produces its effects by bringing the mind, the body, and the environment in harmony with the universal rhythms of nature.
The new series of DVDs is available on the website www.meruevents.com. Each concert is featured on its own page, with photos and information about the programme and the performers, many of whom are legendary 'maestros' of Indian classical music, Maharishi Gandharva Veda, and Kathak dance. The display for four of the five concerts also includes a short video excerpt from that concert.
More video excerpts from the concerts—17 in all—are featured on another page linked to the website.
