Constructing 'Cities of the Future' according to Maharishi Vastu

'Cities need to go beyond the idea of just economical, ecological, and environmental balance,' says Tower Companies Partner Jeffrey Abramson.

The Tower Companies, the largest developer of green or sustainable properties in the Washington, DC area in the United States, is also a pioneer in the use of Vedic architecture—Maharishi Vastu.

In his 2009 address to the Aspen Environment Forum in Aspen, Colorado, USA, Mr Abramson presented Cities of the Future—which 'harness Nature's intelligence within the built environment, so that Nature works for us,' he said.

'We need to build cities that promote our ability to change, to change our mind, to let go, so we feel unrestricted in our potential, so that we can create the future . . . where we live in the idea of all possibilities,' Mr Abramson said.

He presented the idea that we need to address requirements that make a city ideal: a city that has no crime, no poverty; a city that promotes good health; a city with better educational outcomes where schools are centres of coherence.

There is a possibility for cities to bring good fortune, enhance spiritual fulfilment, and make us more creative and more successful, he said.
