The visit of Haru Kuntanawa, a great leader of Amazonian tribes, inspired deep appreciation among leaders of the Global Country of World Peace in MERU, Holland. A young leader in the field of culture commented on the recent visit, which he had organized.
It is heartening and inspiring that the knowledge of the traditional people has been safeguarded and protected deep in the Amazon forests, the young leader said. Now that knowledge is coming out and is being shared with others.
When Mr Kuntanawa arrived in MERU he was welcomed by Maharishi Vedic Pandits. Mr Kuntanawa and the Pandits each shared their different approaches of recitation.
Mr Kuntanawa, who is a practitioner of the Transcendental Meditation Programme and deeply appreciative of the knowledge and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, is a great unifying force among traditional peoples, uniting the 14 tribes and nations of his own language group.
He also invited the Eskimos, Shaman, and Elders of Greenland to participate in the global union of indigenous peoples held in July 2010.
'What we see growing is that the Global Country of World Peace is not a top down approach, but really a bottom up approach,' the young leader commented. 'As Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam* has said, the Global Country is for everyone.'
Mr Kuntanawa and his people envision unity among nations. The young leader showed a photo of them holding up the flags of all nations deep in the Amazon, honouring the countries of the world as they exist today.
Mr Kuntanawa also envisions expansion of the United Nations to include indigenous nations as fully sovereign nations, the young leader concluded.
