Beach Boys harmonize in Fairfield, Iowa, spread enthusiasm for Maharishi's programmes

On 7 September 2009 in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, the legendary music group the Beach Boys performed at the second benefit concert hosted by the David Lynch Foundation.

Speaking recently on Maharishi Global Family Chat*, Dr Robert Roth, National Director of Expansion for the Global Country of World Peace in the US, explained that this concert, like the Paul McCartney concert held in New York in April of this year, was aimed to raise funds to teach one million at-risk youth the Transcendental Meditation Programme. Dr Roth announced that a portion of these resources will be contributed to the scholarship fund at Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment in Fairfield—the flagship Consciousness-Based Education institution.

The concert, held on the grounds of the Fairfield Middle School, was attended by 4,000 people—including about 2,000 members of the Maharishi University of Management (M.U.M.) community, and 2,000 other residents of the town. 'It was the grandest community-wide celebration ever hosted in honour of the knowledge and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi—an absolutely blissful event, with an overall sense of unity among the audience,' commented Dr Roth.

This feeling of harmony predominating he attributed not only to the Beach Boys' music, but to the effect of coherence and unity in the whole collective consciousness created by the Invincible America Assembly of Yogic Flyers, which has been ongoing for the last three years at M.U.M. and in nearby Maharishi Vedic City.

'It was wonderful to see "America's band", who are honoured in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, spread such enthusiasm for Consciousness-Based Education,' said Dr Roth in closing.
