The David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace is co-sponsor of a concert to be held on 7 September (Labor Day in the US) by the Beach Boys—billed as the 'Grand Finale' of their Endless Summer Tour. The legendary band will perform for the first time in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, the home of Maharishi University of Management and the Invincible America Assembly.
Mike Love, lead singer of the Beach Boys, performed at the historic 'Change Begins Within' concert at Radio City Music Hall, New York City, in April. That concert, headlined by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and other stars, was a benefit for the David Lynch Foundation's programmes to help 1 million students in schools around the world learn Transcendental Meditation. Mr Love also spoke at the press conference preceding the concert.
Please see a previous Global Good News article reporting on an interview with Mike Love, in which he described his experience learning the Transcendental Meditation Technique in 1967. He has continued to practise the technique ever since.
With this afternoon concert in September, the Beach Boys are bringing their summer classics and beautiful harmonies to Fairfield, and finishing their summer tour of 40 American cities that has been drawing huge audiences and rave reviews.
Co-sponsored by the Fairfield Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center, and the David Lynch Foundation, details of concert time, location, and tickets will be available soon.
