In a beautiful nine-page article, the Des Moines Register Homestyle section highlighted the Maharishi Sthapatya Vedic home of Fred Gratzon, a resident of Maharishi Vedic City. 'I live in paradise,' said Gratzon. 'There's a peacefulness here, a calm.'

The article consisted primarily of stunning pictures of the expansive home. It also featured an interview with Gratzon, and an overview of the principles of Maharishi Vedic Architecture such as proper orientation, placement, proportion, and Brahmasthan.

'Early morning rays are the most nourishing,' said Gratzon. 'During the equinox, the whole house is flooded with this golden light.'

Gratzon, a Philadelphian transplanted to the small Midwestern town, described Maharishi Vedic City as, 'an exotic location'. 'I'm extremely comfortable here,' he said. 'Its the vegetarian capital of the world, the organic capital of the world.'
