On 23 June Maharishi Global Family Chat featured Jeffrey Abramson, real estate developer and partner with The Tower Companies, presenting news about the opening of his Maharishi Sthapatya Veda Architecture office building in Washington, DC, USA christened 'Tower II'. The building was inaugurated on 20 June 2008, in the presence of members of the Washington brokerage community who had come for the unveiling of the 'Healthiest Building in Washington'. Attending members of the press renamed Tower II 'The World's Healthiest Building'. Their news reports also highlighted the work of Jeffrey Abramson's father, Albert Abramson, 91.
With its LEED certification of Gold, as well as the Vedic Architecture design, explained Abramson, this fortune-creating building elevates the intelligence of the office work force, the back bone of every company. If you elevate the work force, you elevate their success and their life. They work less and achieve more, he added.
At the inauguration, guests enjoyed a tour of the building and learned about its special green features, such as the enormous amount of sunlight utilized in the building, which creates free lighting and reduced electricity consumption. Much of the fibre used to build the doors and cabinets comes from wheat straw. The air is exchanged every 51 minutes, the building uses 48% less energy, and 41% less water, according to Abramson. 'We purchase wind power to offset all the electrical needs of the building [and] we are one of the largest consumers of wind energy in the US,' he reported.
After receiving the Green Building of the Year Award from the Washington Business Journal, The Tower Companies also received an award from Washingtonian Magazine as the Corporate Green Leader of Washington, DC. 'We have been getting these awards for a life-long passion for work to make buildings healthy and icons of success. . . . This is the next generation [in corporate real estate] and it will lead to a great revival in the health of America.'
