Raja Willem Meijles, Raja of Invincible Holland for the Global Country of World Peace, noted that the nation's achievement of invincibility is reflected in the news reports that Holland's economy is doing very well, especially compared with other European countries.
Speaking on a recent Maharishi Global Family Chat, Raja Willem reported:
—The Dutch Central Planning Bureau (CPB), bureau for economic policy analysis, expressed its surprise that the American financial crisis did not effect the Dutch economy.
—In the second half of 2007 the growth rate of the Dutch economy showed an increase of more than four per cent, which was described by a spokesman of the Dutch CPB, as 'really marvelous'.
—The Dutch National Minister of Finance, Wouter Bos, expects a somewhat slower growth of the economy this year, but expressed that Holland is doing extremely well especially compared with other nations in Europe.
Raja Willem also reported that many Dutch companies realized huge profits last year:
—The national telecommunications company KPN made a net profit of 2.6 billion Euros in 2007, an increase of 67 per cent compared to 2006.
—Royal Dutch Shell made a net profit of 27.6 billion Euros in 2007, an increase of 8 per cent.
—Ahold made a net profit of 2.95 billion Euros in 2007, an increase of 220 per cent.
—The international airport, Schiphol, in Amsterdam, made a net profit of 233 million Euros in 2007, an increase of 17 per cent.
—The financial institution ING made a net profit of 9.2 billion Euros in 2007, a 19.51 per cent increase over the previous year.
