Transcendental Meditation another way to tackle stress

A letter to the editor explained why recent articles on how to relieve workplace stress should have mentioned Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation technique.

In a comprehensive and detailed letter commenting on two articles about workplace stress that appeared in the November and December issues of the Business Edge, reader and Director of the Corporate Development Program at the Maharishi Center for Excellence in Management in Victoria, Stan Lamothe, pointed out that Transcendental Meditation (TM) had a '40-year track record of success' in managing workplace stress.

The letter went on to cite key research findings from the over 600 scientific articles that have appeared worldwide verifying the value of the stress-reducing technique. Benefits cover the range from improved health to improved productivity and job performance, and unfoldment of mental potential. They include: reduced stress and anxiety on the job, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, less cardiovasular disease, lower absenteeism and accident rates on the job, better relations with co-workers and supervisors, and increased creativity and intelligence.
