David Lynch wades into deep waters
by Justin Hibbard

On 10 June 2006 BusinessWeek reported:
Film director David Lynch credits Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Technique with keeping him innovative in the film industry and happy in life.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of business.
Lynch compared the practice of Transcendental Meditation to fishing. He said that with the practice of TM your consciousness starts expanding and you have a better chance of catching bigger ideas the deeper you dive into it. Just as in fishing, the little fish are on the surface, but the deeper you go the bigger they get. 'Big fish, big ideas,' he said.
Lynch said that he recommended the practice of TM to businesses because employees who practice the technique start to come to work happier, brighter, and more willing to 'go the extra mile for you.' The added creativity and flow of ideas is like money in the bank for businesses he said.
The TM technique has helped Lynch with his flow of ideas, with his ability to solve problems, and to make creative decisions.
'Your meditation is to go within, transcend, and experience pure consciousness. You come out refreshed, wide awake, and energetic. You can now focus on those problems, focus on your business, focus on your film. It's easier to focus, and it's a more intense focus' Mr Lynch told Business Week.
Lynch continued with his fishing analogy. He said that ideas can come to him fully developed or fragmented. The fragmented or little idea attracts all the other ideas 'like bait at the end of a hook.' In the movie industry, little ideas for scenes in a film can attract bigger ideas until more scenes are created, and eventually an entire film.
Creative solutions and decisions have to be made quickly in the film industry, and Lynch said that TM helps him come up with solutions more easily. Mr Lynch said that 'solutions come more easily with the more consciousness you have. If consciousness is pure gold, all you need is the key to open up that big vault door, and all that gold is yours,' he said.
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
