Speaking 9 July 2008 on the Maharishi Global Family Chat, Raja Pat Barrett, Raja of Invincible Saint Lucia for the Global Country of World Peace, and Dr David Lee Sheng Tin, National Director of Trinidad and Tobago, reported on the success of a recent lecture in Saint Lucia on Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Programme and the brain.
The lecture, titled 'The CEO in Your Brain: Smart Brains, Healthy Decisions', attracted 50 business people in Saint Lucia this past April. Presenters included businessmen and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme practitioners Tom Mullins of Ireland, Jay Marcus of the US, and Charles Draycott of England, as well as Dr Alarik Arenander, Director of Maharishi University of Management's Brain Research Institute.
Among topics discussed in the presentation were how stress, drugs, and poor diet affect the brain in a negative manner, and how the Transcendental Meditation Technique can re-enliven the pre-frontal cortex of the brain.
Those attending the presentation, said Dr Lee Sheng Tin, were top businessmen of Saint Lucia from all levels of the community, including government agencies. 'All of them were extremely interested in the lecture,' said Dr Lee Sheng Tin. Following the conference, he continued, 22 participants not yet practising the TM Technique 'immediately signed up to learn'. Raja Barrett reported that these 22 have already begun learning Transcendental Meditation, along with others who are interested.
'It was a very successful seminar,' concluded Dr Lee Sheng Tin.
