Today's summit — A New Science for Peace: Research on Transcendental Meditation, the Brain, Trauma, and Peace — will be streamed live online starting at 9:00 a.m. (US Eastern Time).

The summit is hosted by the David Lynch Foundation's Abramson Center for Peace. A panel of 13 leading scientists, physicians, educators, and military leaders will discuss 40 years of research and clinical experience utilizing the evidence-based Transcendental Meditation technique as an intervention for reducing trauma and violence among individuals, and within society as a whole. The event is being held at American University in Washington, DC, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon.

Dr. John Hagelin, President of the Global Union of Scientists for Peace, will give a special keynote address titled ''Transcending: A Brain-Based Shortcut to Societal Peace'' at 11:15-11:55 am.
