Maharishi University of Management to host international conference in April: 'Maharishi Ayur-Veda - Ayurveda and Psychology'

Maharishi University of Management (MUM) in Fairfield, Iowa, USA will be the venue for the 21st International Conference - Maharishi AyurVeda / Ayurveda & Psychology, to be held 28-30 April 2017.
The conference is organized by Global Ayurveda Conferences and is supported by MUM as well as by the Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America (AAPNA), and International University of Yoga and Ayurveda (IUYA).
The conference is open to a wide range of participants including Ayurvedic practitioners, integrative medical doctors, psychologists, naturopathic doctors, homeopathic doctors, marriage and family counselors, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, massage therapists, yoga teachers, herbalists, aromatherapists, researchers, scientists, teachers, educators and the general public.
Plenary speakers at the conference sessions are:
∙ Robert Keith Wallace, PhD, Founding President, Maharishi University of Management, who conducted pioneering research on the Transcendental Meditation technique; his seminal papers published in Science, the American Journal of Physiology, and Scientific American supported a new paradigm of mind-body medicine and brain development.
∙ Robert Schneider, MD, FACC, FAMBR, Dean, Maharishi College of Perfect Health, Maharishi University of Management, and one of the nation's leading authorities on science-based, mind-body and integrative medicine. Over the past 30 years he has directed nearly $25 million in grants from the National Institutes of Health and other agencies for pioneering research into natural approaches for the prevention and treatment of aging and stress related disorders, notably cardiovascular disease.
∙ Vasant Lad, BAM & S, MASc., Director, The Ayurveda Institute, New Mexico, USA. Dr Lad served for three years as Medical Director of the Ayurveda Hospital in Pune, India, and was Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Pune University College of Ayurvedic Medicine for more than a decade. He founded the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1984 and currently is its Director and principal instructor. Dr. Lad is the author of several books and is respected throughout the world for his knowledge of Ayurveda.
Among the featured speakers are many prominent experts and practitioners in the field of Ayurveda, holistic mental and physical health, and integrative medicine, including Nancy Lonsdorf, MD, Director, Awaken Your Power to Heal, Iowa, USA, who has been named one of America's most prominent Ayurvedic doctors; Sujatha Reddy, mental health counselor, Ayurvedic health practititioner and expert in Ayurvedic psychology; Vijay K. Jain, MD, Founding Director of Integrative Medicine at International University of Yoga and Ayurveda and a member of the board of directors of Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America; and Priyatarssini Balamurugen—Vaidya (Dr.) Priyaa Balaa— who has been practicing Ayurveda in the US and India for the past fifteen years.
