Liquorice helps in fight against tooth decay

On 22 May 2015 The Telegraph reported: Liquorice (licorice) could actually hold the key to conquering tooth decay, say scientists at the University of Edinburgh. New research suggests the legume has natural plant chemicals that kill mouth bacteria and prevent the build up of plaque. Past research has revealed that cranberries could help prevent tooth decay and gum disease, showing they prevent harmful bacteria from sticking to the teeth, and so stop plaque from forming.
