EPA: Waste incinerator released dangerous toxins into air

On 15 May 2015 The Associated Press reported: A hazardous-waste incinerator in Ohio released dangerous toxins into the air over the past four years, exposing those nearby to chemicals that can cause cancer, miscarriages, and early death, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency. The facility is on the Ohio River near the Pennsylvania and West Virginia borders. The EPA said the toxins might have included dioxin, which can cause reproductive problems, skin disease, and changes in hormone levels; cadmium, which can cause kidney disease and fetal malformations; chromium, which can cause cancer; and other toxic air pollutants that can cause neurological, respiratory, and developmental problems.
