Malawi to issue $36 million 5 year bond on Feb 1

LILONGWE (Reuters) - Malawi will issue a five-year bond worth 5 billion kwacha on February 1 at a fixed rate of 12.5 percent, its central bank announced on Friday.

Proceeds from the Malawian kwacha-denominated issue will be used to fund development projects, Malawi's Reserve Bank said in a statement. 'Interest will be payable half yearly on February 1 and August 1,' it added.
