Success of Consciousness-Based Education in Great Britain

During a recent Maharishi Global Family Chat Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of Invincible Great Britain for the Global Country of World Peace, reported on the success of Consciousness-Based Education in his domain.
Among the current Consciousness-Based Education programmes in the nation is one at a 6th form college with over 1,000 students between the ages of 16 and 18. This age group is ideal, Raja Warburton said, because the pupils are old enough to become Yogic Flyers and create a powerful influence of peace and invincibility for the country.
One of the teachers at the school is also a Transcendental Meditation Teacher, and the programme at the school is going very well, Raja Warburton continued.
The Consciousness-Based Education programme has been offered to the students as part of the school's Enrichment Programme, which allows students to choose from a number of different subjects, such as singing in the school choir, debating, etc. The Enrichment Programme is open to about half of the student body, and Transcendental Meditation is one of the options.
Whatever they choose becomes part of the curriculum, Raja Warburton said, so if they choose to learn Transcendental Meditation, they practise it as part of the daily curriculum of the school. In addition, they have one lesson a week, which allows them to gain deeper knowledge about the experience of Transcendental Meditation, and also how all disciplines of study are integrated in the Self. This gives them the opportunity to learn the principles of Consciousness-Based Education, he said.
There are currently nine students signed up for the Consciousness-Based Education programme, and that number is expected to more than double. Funding for the programme is not an issue, even on a large scale—and there is great potential for expansion, Raja Warburton concluded.
