On her show yesterday, April 2, Ellen DeGeneres sat down with Bob Roth, who talked about the benefits of adding Transcendental Meditation to your daily routine.
Roth, CEO of the David Lynch Foundation, has been teaching Transcendental Meditation for over 40 years, and is author of the new bestseller about TM, Strength in Stillness. He said that TM is ''not a religion, not a philosophy, not a change in lifestyle—anyone can do it from 10 years of age and up.'' The technique is practiced for about 15-20 minutes twice a day, and ''allows your active, agitated thinking mind to settle down and access a field of calm that lies deep within every one of us.''
Roth also described scientific research on the health-promoting benefits of this ''simple, natural, easily-learned technique,'' especially its effectiveness in alleviating the ''epidemic of stress'' afflicting every area of our society.
During the show, Ellen, who has been practising Transcendental Meditation for seven years, said, ''It really helps you, it makes a difference, it just calms you down.''

Commenting after the interview, Roth praised Ellen's support for the David Lynch Foundation's work:
''Ellen DeGeneres is an extraordinary human being—wise, compassionate, caring. I loved being on her show. Her support for our work at the David Lynch Foundation—providing Transcendental Meditation, at no cost, to inner-city school students, veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress, and women and children survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault—is helping to change the world.''
Strength In Stillness reaches #2 on Amazon's Top 100 (April 3, 2018). All of Bob Roth's proceeds from the book go to support the David Lynch Foundation's work.
