Subway Australia to switch to cage-free eggs in next 12 to 18 months

On 17 September 2014 Weeklytimesnow.com reported: Subway Australia has announced it is working with it suppliers to source cage-free eggs for its restaurants. The fast food chain, which has 1400 stores nationwide, said on its Facebook page that it hoped to 'implement the switch to cage-free eggs in Australia within 12 to 18 months'. This comes after McDonald's Australia announced that it would also begin phasing out cage eggs next year. Animal welfare activist group Animals Australia claimed the move was another win.
